Adding Spouse or co-Contact Name as a merge field in Merge Documents
Often times a more personalized touch can be achieved in your correspondence to prospects and owners by using contact first names in your merge documents. An example could be... "Dear Bill and Susan"... or in the body of the letter you might want your text to read something like... " I so enjoyed working with you and Susan". You can easily add fields to your WINSALES marketing database and merge documents that will then support merging spouse and co-Contact Names.
Microsoft Word also offers a feature called "If Then Statements". This feature gives you the ability to have WORD electively insert qualifiers like "and", "or" , "when" etc. between merge fields. In the example above for Dear Bill and Susan, if WINSALES contains a Spouse or co-Contact Name, Microsoft WORD will insert the qualifier "And" between the two merge fields..If WINSALES does not have a Spouse name entered, then Microsoft Word will not enter the qualifier. This feature can be envoked within each merge document as you build them. The link below offers more detailed information on how to create these type of merge documents.
